Ibn al-Nafis ابن النفيس the physician who discovered the pulmonary transit of blood in the human body, corrected the 2nd century Roman physician Galen's theory, wrote what would become a golden manuscript on the subject for centuries to come, long before William Harvey's latter publication on the subject. Ibn al-Nafis’s most famous medical discovery is the pulmonary transit of blood. That is, he recognised that blood moved from the right to the left side of the heart via the lungs. |
